Senior Research Associate

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Perform non-routine and semi-complex research in the lab as a Research Associate in support of Expansion Therapeutic’s structural biology and biophysics research

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Synthesize and purify stably isotope labeled RNA constructs in quantities suitable for NMR structural studies

  • Prepare small molecule/RNA complex samples suitable for NMR characterization and structural studies

  • Collect 1 and 2-D NMR spectra on locally available instrumentation

  • Coordinate time sensitive sample delivery to CROs for high field NMR studies

  • Measure small molecule/RNA binding using biophysical methods (i.e., BLI, SPR, MST etc.)

  • Clearly document experimental efforts and results by both oral presentation and written reports

RNA Biochemistry/Structural Biology

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S.  in chemistry, biochemistry or related field. 

  • Minimum additional one year research experience working in and industrial or academic environment

  • Previous experience working with RNA

  • Operational competence in operating Bruker NMR spectrometers

  • Familiarity with standard lab instrumentation, computers, and software

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to process and interpret experimental data

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment

  • Experience with in vitro binding assays and biophysical techniques is a plus

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States​
