Mutual Respect and Support
For all the talk above about our view of you as a team member, it's important to know that more than anything we believe that whatever your contribution to Expansion, it falls flat if any fail to respect or support fellow team members. We do not support discrimination of any sort, either during the hiring process or post hire on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender type, beliefs,.. hair style, sock wearing preferences; It's a long list. We seek to thrive in and through diversity and are dedicated to maintaining genuine attitudes of respect while doing our best to support and honor your uniqueness.
– And while we're on it;
WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
We'd be remiss to mention what underlies the integrity of our work; Being accountable to one another in order to keep the integrity of our work at its highest. We will go out of our way to ensure our goals stay in alignment with the values of Expansion Therapeutics mentioned above.
The Silent, (absent) "I" in Team
Bring yourself to this professional outing. "There is no "I" in Team" does resonate with appropriate equanimity but we can't abide its limits. If you're hired to be a part of this endeavor to cure major CNS diseases we'll need you to bring everything you have. Stand up, say it, do it; and we'll be sure to support you in your vision same as you have come to support ours.
Culture of Curiosity
If curios is not a state of being, we may not know what else it is. So whatever else you may encounter as a part of the Expansion Therapeutics team, you can be sure to be both inspired and encouraged to give your curiosity a front-row seat. Above all be sure not to keep it to yourself. If you reverse Napoleon's logic, you'll have what we're after here:

Ph.D. in biophysics, chemistry, structural biology or related field.
Proven experience in the synthesis and purification of stable isotope labeled RNA using enzymatic in vitro transcription methods.
Deep understanding and expertise in solution structure determinations of RNA and/or DNA by NMR, including data acquisition, spectral analysis, and computing structures from NMR spectroscopic parameters.
Strong background with in vitro binding assays and biophysical techniques and SHAPE as well x-ray crystallography of RNA/DNA is a plus.
Evidence of creative application of NMR techniques to problems of pharmaceutical interest
Strong knowledge of organic chemistry, biochemistry, or physical chemistry; experience in a medicinal or process chemistry environment

Reporting to the Senior Director of Structural Biology, the Senior Research Scientist will support and contribute to our structural biology drug discovery efforts by profiling small molecule interactions to determine the structures of RNA complexes. He/She will be able to design and synthesis RNA constructs as well as interpret NMR spectra to assign binding poses of small molecules to RNA to provide important structural information. In addition to fundamental NMR skills, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual, who, while capable of working independently, understands and values cross-functional teamwork and will support our common mission of pursuing the vast potential of small molecule medicines for RNA-mediated diseases
