Senior Research Associate

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:


  • Assemble critical research reagents employing advanced molecular biology techniques such as, by designing primers, oligos, probes, expression constructs, and molecular cloning as needed for various projects.

  • Perform molecular biology assays including isolation and quantitation of DNA/RNA and quality evaluation by gel and capillary electrophoresis.

  • Establish and conduct RT-PCR and qPCR assays.

  • Perform fundamental biochemical assays such as SDS-PAGE, Western, ELISA, and MSD.

  • Support ongoing cellular assays utilizing the critical molecular biology reagents including viral or non-viral delivery of DNA, RNA.

  • Support upkeep and maintenance of various laboratory equipment.

  • Track supplies and orders for lab operations and inventory management

  • Maintain detailed organized records of experimental data and analysis.

  • Develop, optimize protocols, and support generation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Interpret and present data regularly in both oral and written formats.

  • Perform all duties in keeping with the Company’s core values, policies and all applicable regulations.


Requirements: Proven Experience, Skills, and Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree minimum 4 years of experience or master’s degree minimum 2 years of experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or a similar field with relevant hands-on industry experience

  • Experience in molecular RNA biology, knowledge of in vitro transcription/translation will be highly valued.

  • Familiarity with standard laboratory instruments, computers and office and laboratory software including molecular biology software will be required.

  • Proven experience with Invitro MoA pharmacology

  • Experience in protein labeling, assay-development using ELISA, MSD, is a plus.

  • Experience in independently conducting experiments, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data is required.

This position will report to the Senior Scientist II and will be responsible for establishing innovative assays utilizing fundamental molecular biology and biochemical technologies. This position will be based in our Cambridge, MA location.
