Laboratory Operations/Facilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
Lab OPS:
Lead and drive lab operations to ensure high quality and reliable support for our research team. This includes planning and executing laboratory infrastructure, lab equipment procurement, maintenance, manage inventory and responsible for ordering, shipping, and receiving functions.
Serve as main point of contact for all lab-related vendors
Maintain and optimize processes within the lab to increase efficiency and effectiveness including management of biologics inventory, lab consumables, and chemicals
Maintain shipment tracker to ensure materials are shipped under contract for project tracking and documentation
Works closely with functional leaders to develop and implement seating and space utilization plans / strategies for additional laboratory build out
Manage basic lab equipment including service contracts, preventative maintenance, calibration scheduling, SOPs, and regular cleaning of incubators, biosafety cabinets, and cold storage.
Establish operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete on-time delivery.
Maintain equipment database information including updating database when equipment moves, new equipment comes in and equipment is decommissioned or when equipment standards are updated
Collaborate regularly with scientists to identify and address any workflow inefficiencies, or opportunities for process improvement, and logistical or administrative issues in the lab
Leads lab safety programs and initiatives
FACILITIES:
Supervises, coordinates, and performs facilities support work, including coordination of contractor and vendor services, facilities planning, construction procurement, facility repair, supply ordering and delivering, document retention and special facilities requests.
Oversees space planning, seating allotment and move, add, change processes
Liaises between lab managers and vendors for consumable and services related vendor managed programs to ensure accepted service level commitments are obtained
Identifies opportunities and leads initiatives to collaboratively improve service levels and business processes regarding equipment and facilities. Lead small to mid-size cross functional projects.
Lead laboratory renovation and improvement projects by coordinating with stakeholders and driving resolution.
Administration of critical equipment alarm/monitoring systems
REQUIREMENTS: PROVEN EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or related field.
Minimum of 4+ years of experience working in a laboratory environment; preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry
Familiarity with standard lab instrumentation, computers, and software
Able to organize own work to meet project task deadlines; possesses basic team effectiveness skills & peer-influencing skills required to work in a matrix environment.
Able to work effectively as both a team member and as an independent contributor.
Enjoys learning new technology, proficiency in the use of MS Office.

Reporting to the Director of Research, the Laboratory Operations/Facilities candidate will manage, coordinate, and maintain all laboratory activities for the Jupiter, FL site. He/she will provide superior organizational skills, and positive outgoing personal presence to ensure a safe, functional, well-organized, and vibrant workspace.
*Title will be commensurate with experience.
