Senior Director, Human Resources 


Reporting to the CEO, The Senior Director, Human Resources will provide HR business support to our entire organization focused on talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management and employee relations. This role requires a strategic thinking individual with strong interpersonal skills for building both internal and external relationships and implementing best people practices in a growing and fast-paced environment. The individual will work with the leadership team to establish long-range human resource strategies and practices to support specific business objectives and long-term company growth.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  

  • Manages the full cycle recruitment process for talent acquisition. From ensuring competitive and equitable compensation and benefits to attract and retain top talent to onboarding of new talent.

  • Administers and oversees company benefits including health, 401K, vacation and ensures that the company benefit package is equitable. 

  • Oversees other HR related programs; medical leave, disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity and recognition; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

  • Leads human resources business initiatives that drive business goals and accelerate business results. Translate strategic and tactical business plans into practical and effective human resource practices.

  • Supports and enables the organization by providing expertise on all HR aspects of the business.

  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.

  • Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to senior management.


Minimum Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 10 years of progressive relevant HR experience. Experience working in a drug development or biotechnology organization is highly preferable.

  2. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field.

  3. Proven experience in leading change management initiatives through periods of rapid expansion.

  4. Operate with the utmost ethics and discretion, earning trust with peers, executive leadership, and entire staff.

  5. Significant experience developing, implementing, and executing core HR tools and processes.

  6. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to Human Resources, including broad based knowledge of global employment laws.
